The blog hop is featuring "Christmas" cards using products out of our two current catalogs.

Please follow the links to the next blog post to see some amazing Christmas card Ideas from some of the other Ingenuity Inkers team members.

I thought for the hop I would just keep it simple and make a one-layer card. Sometimes more is less. You can make beautiful cards using Stamps, Ink and Paper. Our blending brushes do an amazing job and are so easy to work with.

Here is the card I created and I will let you in on a little secret now. I am going to try this same technique using different colors for the sky such as crumb cake, soft succulent, misty moonlight, highland heather, smokey slate.... and the list goes on!

Here is a list of the supplies I used:

Ink Pads: Blushing Bride for the sponging and Mimento Black for the trees and Basic Gray for the sentiment.

Blends: Crumb cake for the deer.

Stampin' Write Marker: Petal Pink for the shadows.

Card Stock: Basic Gray for the card base and Basic White for the layers.

Stamp Sets: Evergreen Elegence and Peaceful Deer.

I used sticky note paper for the moon and masking for the snow banks. I used a 1 1/4" circle punch for the moon mask, but a small layering circle die will work.

The others included in this blog hop are listed above. I hope you hop over to each blog to get a first hand look at the remarkable Christmas cards and some incredible inspiration for your own Christmas cards.

Enjoy and happy stamping!

Hugs,

MJ

August Blog Hop "Masculine"

Hello Everyone! Our Blog Hop this month is Masculine - using the current catalogs. I had so much fun creating this card! Without further ado, here is the card and the step by step instructions. I hope you enjoy and will give it a try.

Lets gather our supplies:

Stamp sets: Natures Beauty and Happiest of Birthdays

Stamp Pads: Basic Gray and Momento Black

DSP: Beauty of the Earth

Dies: Tailored Tags and Birthday Chick Dies for the diecut sentiment

Card Stock: Basic White Thick for the base 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4

Old Olive piece for tag #1, Basic White piece for tag #2 Basic white piece for Sentiment (die cut)

Blends: Crumb Cake light and dark and old olive light and dark

Lets get started:

  1. I cut the DSP to 5 1/4 by 4 and layered onto the front of the card

2. I die cut the two different tags using the largest one of each. One using Old Olive and one using Basic White. I also cut the reinforcements out of each color and interchanged them onto the tags.

3. Next I stamped the image on the white tag and colored using the blends. I used Basic Gray for the stamping. I cut a piece of DSP to fit inside the Old Olive Tag - 1 1/2 by 3

Adhere the tags as shown in the photo

4. Next I cut a piece of Basic White measuring 5 by 4 1/4 for the inside layer of the card. I used a small piece of DSP on this layer for continuity and then stamped the small trees from the same stamp set.I used the blends again for the coloring..

5. Stamp the sentiment on the inside layer.

Adhere this image to the inside of the card.

Masculine Card..... All Done!

Please hop along to the next person in our blog hop. There is lots to enjoy and many great ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

In todays Blog Hop we are featuring the Hand Penned Suite.

Here are my instructions for making this card.

Card Stock: Night of Navy and Basic White

Stamp Sets: Hand Penned Petals and Pansy Patch

Stampin' Blends: Night of Navy Light, Pale Papaya Light, Mint Macaron Light and Highland Heather Light

Pastels: Night of Navy

Extras: Blender Pen, White Embossing Powder and Holiday Rhinestones

Ink Pads: Versimark and Mimento Jet Black

DSP: Hand Penned

Dies: Penned Flowers

Start by making the card base out of Night of Navy 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4

The DSP 4 1/4 x 3" or larger. Cut according to the direction of the pattern. Lay the 4 1/4 inch side across the top of the card front then angle any way you want as long as both of your top corners are covered. Glue down and then turn the card over and trim off the excess. Cut some 1/4" strips for decoration and glue on top of the DSP.

Stamp the largest flower from the stamp set onto Basic White card stock and color using your method of choice. Here I used Pale Papaya Light Stampin' Blend for the flowers and Night of Navy pastell chalk with a blender pen for the leaves. Then die cut it out. Glue onto the front of the card.

Cut a piece of Basic White for the inside layer at 5 1/ 4 x 4 . Stamp the other flower on this piece and color before gluing it to the inside of the card. Here I used all Stampin Blends. The sentiment came from the Pansy Patch stamp set.

I stamped "Thanks" on the front of the card in Versimark ink and embossed with White embossing powder. Embellish with the rhinestones. I used some out of the Holiday Rhinestones.

I hope you give this card a try.

Enjoy the rest of the blog hop today. I love this suite and can not wait to see what the others have created. I know there will be lots of inspiration and lots to admire and something for everyone.

I will leave you with my thought for the day:

"There are friendships imprinted in our hearts that will never be diminished by time or distance!"

Happy Stamping and have a blessed day.

Hugs,

MJ
