May Swaps using the In-Lay technique May 27, 2021

Hello Friends,

Well, what a busy week. Sometimes life just gets in the way of our crafting time! I am excited to share my May Swaps with you that I sent out to my Swapee's! How do you like my new stamping term?

I had so much fun creating this card. I used all of the new Stampin'Up in-colors and each card turned out really lovely.

Here are the instruction on how to make this card.

Card Stock:

Basic White

Color of your choice (Here I used Evening Evergreen)

Basic Black

Stamp Sets:

Quiet Meadow

Pansy Patch

Dragonfly Garden

Dies

Meadow

Scalloped Contour

Basic White

  • Card base 8 1/5 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/2

  • Cut 1 piece using the 2nd largest die from the Scalloped Contour dies

  • Cut one piece for the inside layer at 5 1/4 x 4 (white on white)

Color of your Choice (here I used Evening Evergreen)

  • Cut 1 piece using the larges Scalloped Contour die

Cut 1 piece using the largest Scalloped Contour die and cut out the center) Bonus: you now have a piece to set aside to use for another card)

  • Cut 1 butterfly from the Meadow dies

  • Cut 1 flower center

Basic Black:

  • Cut 1 flower using the Meadow dies

  • Cut 1 butterfly using the Meadow dies. (layer the colored one on top of the black one)

I stamped a sentiment on the small white piece using the Evening Evergreen stamp pad.

Then I stamped a sentiment on the inside piece before adhereing to the inside. I also stamped the flowers from the Quiet Meadow stamp set on the inside layer and on the envelope.

Now lets put the card together.

  • Glue the largest colored frame with the hole in the center on to the front of the card centered as best you can.

  • Glue the white scalloped piece into the hole which will fit flush creating the in-laid part.

  • Next glue on the flower. On this one I left the stem long, but it actually looks best if you cut off about an inch from the bottom. Then put the butterfly on with a dimentional.

  • Glue the little flower center into the flower.

Embellish with rhinestones.

I hope you have as much fun making this card as I did. Depending on which sentinments you choose, it could be made to fit any occasion.

I will leave you with my thought for the day:

"You are the artist of your own life. Don't hand the paintbrush to anyone else."

Hugs,

Happy stamping and have a blessed day.

MJ
